Orientation Information: 2018-2019 School Year

Greetings Fortune Family,
Fortune School staff has been busy gearing up for the 2018-2019 school year. As we prepare for a great year, we want to share some important information with you.
Mandatory Orientation
We will be conducting mandatory orientation for all parents and scholars. These school-wide orientations will provide parents and scholars with a clear understanding or our academic program expectations for how we will work together to ensure each scholar receives an excellent education. 
The goal of orientation is for parents and scholars to learn about goals, grade-level expectations, and procedures.
Please mark this important orientation date on your calendar.
When: Saturday, August 11, 2018
Where: Fortune School and William Lee College Prep ***ONLY
When: Saturday, August 18, 2018
Where:  Hardy Brown College Prep, Alan Rowe College Prep, Hazel Mahone College Prep, Eprhaim Williams College  Prep, and Rex & Margaret Fortune Early College High School  ***ONLY
Note: Parents with children in multiple grade levels must attend at least one 30 minute orientation session with the Principal.
What to Expect at Orientation
  • Parents/scholars will meet with the Principal for the first 30 minutes of the hour
  • Parent will fill out and turn in required forms before leaving:
    • Emergency Form
    • Media Release
    • Meal Application
    • Commitment to Excellence Contract
    • Handbook Acknowledgement Form
  • Buy School Uniforms
  • Sign up for After-School Program
First Week of School
Scholars will start school on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. This first week will be early release as we learn the culture of our school. School will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m.

School Uniforms
Fortune School's network of public charter schools are uniform schools. We believe that a scholar's appearance has an impact on his or her attitude and behavior. Click to view the dress code policy for TK-5 and 6-10.
Scholars will be required to wear a "Dress" uniform starting October 3, 2018. Parents are responsible for purchasing their child's uniform clothing.
